INDUCTION DAY

The 14th Induction Day of our college was conducted on 08.07.2015. Mr.Amirtharaj, Director, Dr.Nalini Selvaraj, Chairperson graced the occasion. Dr.A.V.Mayakkannan, Principal, addressed the first year students. The Chief Guest distributed prizes to the outstanding faculty members for their result and publication records.

CHRISTMAS DAY FUNCTION

The Christmas day function of our college was celebrated on Dec 23rd 2015. Our chair person Dr.Nalini Selvaraj and Director Mrs.Merilyn Jemimah Amirtharaj gave a Devotional, inspirational and motivational speech to all the students and faculty members.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE – ICICET-16

Our college organized an International conference on “Innovation and Challenges in Engineering and Technology” on 9th April 2016. The Chief Guest delivered the keynote address. Around 180 papers were presented at the conference.

GUEST LECTURE ON “STORAGE TECHNOLOGIES”

A Guest lecture on “Storage Technologies” was organised by the Department of Computer Science Engineering and Department of Information Technology associated with Computer Society of India. The Chief Guest Mr.R.Velayutham, Storage Administrator, TCS, Chennai gave a Guest Lecture on 22.06.2016.

GUEST LECTURE ON RECENT TRENDS IN MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY

Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a one day guest lecture on “Recent Trends In Manufacturing Technology” on 8th March 2016 Mr.Selvam General Manager, Reynolds – G.M Pens Interntional Pvt. Ltd, Chennai gave a valuable speech about the recent trends of manufacturing .

SPORTS DAY

Our Kings Engineering College organised the 12th Annual Sports Day 2016 on 5th March 2016. Mr.M.Bose, International Hockey Coach, Sports Authority of India was the chief guest of the event, and the prizes were distributed to the students.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in 2001. The Department of Information Technology was started in 2006.The Department provides an outstanding Research Environment complemented by excellence in Teaching. The Department offers BE courses. The Department has a comprehensive curriculum of Anna University on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up- to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments. The Department has state of art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. The Faculty aims at delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with class room teaching.

• Training program on “Advanced JAVA and .NET” in association with CSI was conducted by Mr.Senthil and Mrs. Dhanalakshmi HCL Career Development Center (CDC) Chennai. They gave one week training to the students and staff on java and .net from 28th December 2015 to 4th January 2016.
• International Conference “ICICET’16” was organized in association with CSI on 9th April 2016. Dr.R.Seshasayanan, Anna University, Chennai was the Chief Guest.

About us

The Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 2001. The department has dedicated, qualified and experienced faculty members with specializtion in various fields of knowledge. • Seven days Faculty Development Training Programme on “THERMAL ENGINEERING (ME 6404)” based on Engineering Event was conducted from Nov 23rd to 30th. Our Chief Guest Dr.SRINIVASAN, Scientist SF grade, ISRO gave keynote address.
• One day Guest Lecture on “RECENT TRENDS IN MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY” in association with SAE was conducted by the Mechanical Department on 08-03-16. Mr.Selvam, General Manager, Reynolds Pens Pvt.Ltd was the Chief guest of this event and gaves a lecture on the topic.
• Robo Zest ’16 an Engineering Event was organized on 19 -02-16 & 20-02-16. Mr.Anurag Tiwari & Mr.Pyuish Tiwari (Technical trainers) from Robo species Technologies Pvt..Ltd. gave training to students.

GRADUATION DAY

The 11th graduation day of our graduates passed out in the year 2015 was conducted on 12.05.2016. The Chief Guest Ms. Preethi BR, General Manager, HR of TVS Logistics services Ltd delivered the graduation day address. Our Director Mr.Amirtharaj, and our Chairperson Dr.Naliniselvaraj gave a valuable speech to all the graduates. Totally 180 graduates received their degree certificates all discipline of under graduate courses.

CHRISTMAS DAY FUNCTION

The Christmas Day function of our college was organized on Dec 23rd, 2016. Our Chairperson Dr.Naliniselvaraj and Director Mrs.Merilyn Jemimah Amirtharaj addressed the gathering with devotional and motivational speech.

MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAMME

Kings Engineering College in association with SAE and ICTACT organized a motivational programme on 6th Dec 2017 for all the students. Motivational and impressing talk was given by Mr. Mark Brown, a world champion of public Speaking.

About us

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year of 2001. Since then the department is offering a fulltime B.E degree programme and sharing the vision and mission of the institution in imparting technical skills. Electronics and Communication Engineering being the back bone of all technologies has a special status in engineering education. The department has full-fledged and well equipped laboraties with experienced and dedicated faculty members specialized in various fields.

INDUCTION DAY

The 17th Induction Day of our college was celebrated on 28.06.2017. Mr.Amirtharaj, Director, Dr.Nalini Selvaraj, Chairperson graced the function. Dr.A.V.Mayakannan, Principal, addressed the first year students. The Chief Guest distributed prizes to the outstanding faculty members for their result and publication records.

GRADUATION DAY

The 12thGraduation day of our graduates passed out in the year 2016 was conducted on 18.08.2017. The Chief Guest Dr. S. D. Christopher Chandran, Professor, Political Science, Madras Christian College, Chennai delivered the graduation day address. Totally 150 graduates received their degree certificates under all disciplines of under graduate courses.

CHRISTMAS DAY FUNCTION

The Christmas day function of our college was organized on 19th Dec, 2017. Our Chair Person Dr.Nalini Selvaraj and Director Mrs.Merilyn Jemimah Amirtharaj addressed the gathering with a devotional and motivational speech to all the students and faculty members.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE – ICICET-18

Our College organized an international Conference on Innovation and Challenges in Engineering and Technology during 7th Apr 2018. Our Chief Guest Mr.C.Stanley George, Associate Vice President and location head, Hexa Ware Technologies, Chennai delivered a keynote address.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Our College organized a one day workshop on “Research Methodology” dated on 3rd Dec 2017. Dr.A.Kannan, and Dr.H.Khanna Nehemia Anna University, Chennai delivered a lecture on how to develop a research ideas to the faculty members and research scholars.

STUDENT’S PORTAL INAUGURATION

Our College invented a student portal for easy access to all the subjects in digital manner. Mr.Pravinmani, Managing Director, Vinbytes Technologies inaugurated the student portal on 28.08.2017. All the students of our college received a portal login and password to access the portal easily and also the Chief Guest gave a demo on how to access the software to all the students.

KINGS MOTO CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT – KMC18

The Mechanical Department of our College organized a National Level Moto Championship on 02.03.18.Mr.Arun, Olympia Honda, Manager and training head and Mr.SamPriyakumar, Additional Superintendent, Tamilnadu Police addressed the gathering and distributed prize to the winners of the event. More than 20 colleges from India participated in the event.

MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAMME

Kings Engineering College in association with SAE and ICTACT organized a Motivational Programme on 6th Dec 2017 for all the students. Motivating speech was given by Mr. Mark Brown, world champion of Public Speaking.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in 2001 and The Department of Information Technology was started in 2006. The Department provides an outstanding Research Environment complemented by excellence in Teaching. The Department offers B.E., ME courses. The Department has a comprehensive curriculum of Anna University on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. The course structure is up- to-date and includes courses on nascent topics to equip our students with the latest developments. The Department has state of art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. The Mechanical Engineering department was started in the year 2001. The department has dedicated, qualified and experienced faculty members with specialization in various fields of knowledge. • Seven days Faculty Development Training Programme on “THERMAL ENGINEERING (ME 6404)” based on Engineering Event was conducted from Nov 20th to 27th 2017 Our Chief Guest Dr.T.Lakshmanan, HOD Mech, SA Engineering College inagurated and addressed the faculties during the first session.
• Seven days Faculty Development Programme on “DESIGN OF MACHINE ELEMENTS” was conduted during May 28th – Jun 4th 2018. More than 20 faculties from various college of Tamilnadu attended the FDP program.
• One day workshop on “Frame Design and Motion Analysis” was organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 23rd Feb 2018.
• The National Level Motochampionship “KINGS MOTOCHAMPIONSHIP 2K18” was organised by Mechanical Department on 3rd March 2018. Around 30 college from all over India participated in this event and Mr.SamPriyakumar, ADSP, Tamilnadu Police, and Mr.Arun, Manager, Apollo Tyres were the Chief Guests of this event. Prizes were distributed to the participants under 10 categories.

GRADUATION DAY

The 13th Graduation day of our graduates passed out in the year 2017 was conducted on 7th Sep 2018. The Chief Guest Dr.Sweety Premkumar, Secretary, YMCA, Chennai delivered the Graduation day address. Totally 160 graduates received their degree certificates under all disciplines of under graduate courses. The Chief Guest distributed prizes to the outstanding faculty members for their result and publication records.

CHRISTMAS DAY FUNCTION

The Christmas day function of our college was organized on 21st Dec, 2018. Our Chair Person Dr.Nalini Selvaraj and Director Mrs.Merilyn Jemimah Amirtharaj addressed the gathering with a devotional and motivational speech to all the students and faculty members.

Kings EDC cell helps students to identify the current business opportunities through experts and to assist business development, growth, and reduce the failure of start-up businesses in order to make the students job providers.

KINGS EDC Cell conducted a three day awareness camp on 26.09.2018 to 28.09.2018 funded by EDII Ahmadabad. KINGS EDC encourages young budding entrepreneurs with an activity called kings bazaar.

e-YANTRA LAB INAGURATION

e-YANTRA is a project to spread education in embedded systems and robotics by IIT Bombay sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) through the national mission on education through ICT (NMEICT). e-YANTRA lab setup initiatives (eLSI) supports infrastructure creation at college by providing platform for training faculties in theory and application of Robotics. On 24.07.18 Kings Engineering College established e-YANTRA lab and did validation function for Task Based Training (TBT).

Our college organized one day national level workshop on “Art of Writing Funding Proposals and Research Articles” dated 17.11.2018. Our NSS team organized the blood donation camp at Kings Engineering College on 20th Sep 2018. Around 150 students and Staff members donated blood for welfare of the society.

KINGS KARING CHAMPIONSHIP WORKSHOP

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a national level technical workshop on Karting Championship on 9.10.2018. Around 30 teams participated in the event. On the workshop they had a full knowledge about the building of kart and rules of the kings karting championship event.

KINGS KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP

Kings Karting Championship is a competition conducted by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kings Engineering College to explore the theoretical and technical skills of engineering and diploma students. The main motto of this competition is to design, analyze, document and manufacturing of Kart. The event took place in three stages during December 18 - 20th, 2018.

Day 1- Design Validation Round and Technical Inspection

Technical Inspection where the vehicle will be thoroughly checked prior to the requirements provided. Every batch inspects these vehicle with their design specifications are within the rule limits. Based on their specification technical inspection marks are allocated for every team. On this day virtual reality round like vehicle design, design report, cost report, business plan, Gantt chart, DFMEA and best innovations round are conducted for every team.

Day 2- Dynamic Round

On second day Dynamic rounds are conducted for every karting. Dynamics rounds are testing the vehicles in varies types of tracks whether the vehicle is eligible to drive in a track. Dynamic Rounds are brake test, Acceleration test, Skidpad test and Auto cross. Every test is allocated with individual investigators, based on their performance every Karting is rated with marks.

Day 3- Endurance test

Endurance test was conducted in madras motor race track MMRT, vehicles are allowed to drive in a race track to check the endurance level of the vehicle. We finalized the winner by all aspects by considering all rounds points.

In order to encourage and motivate the upcoming engineers to express their individual talent through this event, KKC provides 10+ various awards in different categories. Totally 32 colleges around India participated in the event. KSR College of Technology has won the championship of the event and got a cash prize of Rs 200000/-. Actor Mirchi Siva was the chief guest and distributed prize for the champions.

ROBO-TI KING

ROBO-TI KINGs is a competition conducted by students of Electronics and communication Engineering department, Kings Engineering College to explore the theoretical and technical skills of Engineering and diploma students in Robotics. The competition made the Roboteers to showcase their fundamental innovations to the world. The event was conducted on March 23rd 2019 at College premises.

The event encouraged and motivated the upcoming engineers to express their individual talents. We provided 10+ rewards in different categories. The recognition is not only by certificates, we awarded cash of INR 1, 00,000 (One Lakh) worth Prize.

HACKATHON -19

The Department of CSE & IT organized 24 hrs Nonstop Coding War HACKATHON - 19 on March 7th & 8th 2019 , 60 batches registered with a maximum of 4 members in each batch. The Day 1 started with welcoming the participant with Kit. Inauguration programme was conducted and the programme started. During the entire two days programme the participants were supplied with tea, snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The review team conducted reviews and extend their support to the participants at regular interval. The Day 2 the final Demo for all batches was conducted and the list was finalized .The Day 2 valedictory function was conducted. The First and second Prize are honored with a memento and cash prize .All the participants are honored with the memento and certificate. The programme ended with the group photo.

MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

Kings engineering college organized a one day workshop on “Mobile Application Development” with ICT academy collaboration on 18th Aug 2018. Students got wide knowledge about the mobile application development and practice the coding with hands on experience.

DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering were conducted a two days workshop on Digital Image Processing using MATLAB at Kings Engineering College during 15/2/19 to 16/2/19. Guest from Arerz & Technology gave the lecture notes and practical knowledge to the participants.
