Governing Council

Roles and Responsibilities of Governing Council:

Involved in review and approval of Vision, Mission of the college, PO, PEO and PSO for the programme.
To approve the annual accounts and financial estimates of the Institution.
To appoint and to remove Professors, Associate/Assistant Professors, and other members of the teaching Staff as may be necessary, on the recommendations of the Selection Committees constituted for the purpose, and to provide for filling temporary vacancies.
To create administrative, ministerial and other necessary Positions and to accept any other Trust, bequest, donation or transfer of any movable or immovable property to the Institution on behalf of our Institute.
To provide for the buildings, premises, furniture, apparatus and other means required to carry the work of the Institution.
To entertain, adjudicate, and if it thinks fit, to redress any grievance of the salaried officers, the teaching Staff and other employees of the Institution who may feel aggrieved for any reason.
To frame rules and regulations to govern the appointment of Examiners and Moderators, and, if necessary, to remove them, to fix their fees, emoluments and travelling and other allowances after consulting the Executive/Academic council.
To frame rules for the Institution, and grant of Institution fellowships, studentships, medals and prizes.

DISCIPLINARY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE

Function of Disciplinary and Welfare Committee:

To address and effectively solve various student related matters.
It should act as a bridge between students and authorities.
The committee has to maintain a balance between student’s demands/problems and feasibility of solution provided by authorities.
To ensure the implementation of necessary action for in disciplinary activity of the student.
To examine the various measures taken for the welfare of employees/ students and recommend any further improvements, if required

Academic Council

Roles and Responsibilities of Academic Council Members

Academic Council is the Supreme Body of our College. By its nature of administrative structure, Academic Council has been vested with all rights to monitor the Academic aspects. It is empowered to finalize and approve all the academic and administrative affairs of all the Departments of the Institution.
However, Academic Council will always take decisions in concurrence with the prevailing norms of the Institution and in consultation with the Head of the Institution.
Academic Council evaluates the functional perspectives of the Vision and Mission of each Department and then forwards it to the Governing Council along with its feedback for approval.
Priority has been given to Academic Council, to closely observe & monitor the Programme Educational Objectives (PEO) and Programme Outcomes (POC) of the various Courses offered in our College.
Academic Council is empowered to observe periodically the teaching methodology of our day to day classes; it will also look into the conduct of College level Exams & University Examinations, and also co-curricular activities undertaken for the welfare of the students.
It can design suitable strategies to reinforce proper discipline among the students, following the Vision and Mission of the Institution which will mould them for a better future in the modern competitive Technological field.
Academic Council can also form various Committees to ensure smooth and successful functioning of the Institution which in turn will make the students realize their roles and responsibilities to cooperate with the college and thereby to establish the reputation of the Institution.
Academic Council is authorized to recommend Teaching and Non-teaching positions to the competent persons by conducting Interviews in consultation with the Head of the Institution.
Academic Council takes audit of the activities of the Departments and makes suitable move with a view to maintain and improve the benchmarks of guidance.
Academic Council report is finally submitted to IQAC.

Programme Coordination Committe

Roles and Responsibilities of Programme Coordination Committe

It is mandatory for the Programmee Coordination Committee to consult and to Coordinate with the Academic Council in all the matters pertaining to the Academic affairs. Programmee Coordination Committee will abide by the decisions of the Academic Council related to the academic aspects.
PCC will get necessary support and guidance from the Academic Council in framing and formulating the Vision and Mission of each Department. There will be a healthy interaction between the two Committees with a view of the welfare of the stakeholders of the Institution.
Programme Educational Objectives and Programme Outcomes Committees will seriously involve themselves in looking into the relevance of the Technology of the modern world while framing the Objectives.
PCC will have to coordinate with the Faculty Members of each Department in framing the Course Outcomes of the individual Course offered in the Institution.
Primarily the PCC has to coordinate with the Mentors or Advisors regarding the steps taken for the progress of individual student. It also ensures a steady growth and fast improvement in the academic field.
It is also the major responsibility of PCC to organize Academic Events and Co-Curricular Activities such as Faculty Development Programmes, Presentation of Papers and conducting Technical Quiz programmes etc.
PCC will have to collect various data pertaining to different kinds of programmes in consultation with the Academic Council. It should ensure the students to make all these avenues as useful platforms for effective learning.
PCC will also coordinate with the Course - in - charges to identify the gaps, if there is any, formed in curriculum, based on the feedback about PEO, PO and Course End Survey. It helps them to identify the gaps and to discover necessary steps to fill up the gaps and strive hard to obtain the required approval from Academic Council.

Training & Placement Cell

Roles and Responsibilities:

To interact with industries and arrange placements for final year students.
To invite personnel from companies to brief placement opportunity in various fields.
Arrange Placement training programmes to students periodically.
Arrange in and off campus interviews sufficiently to the student.
Create MOU with core companies.
Provide the trainings to the students as per the requirement of the industry and market. These formal trainings and guidance will provide the appropriate way to lead to the success.
Invite the well-known trainers and entrepreneurs from various institutes to train the students as well as teachers.
Facilitate students to visit various ongoing projects in industries, make them familiar with the current situation and scenario in the industry through the trainings by industrial personnel

Club Activities

To give students an opportunity to showcase and sharpen their talents and also to prepare them for various intra-institution competitions, various club activities are conducted throughout the year. ELECTRONICS CLUB

Go GREEN Online Paper & Poster Presentation Theme : “My Institution to Make My Campus Green and Eco Friendly”

All the Department of Kings Engineering College organizes Go GREEN Online Paper & Poster Presentation for the Theme: “My Institution to Make My Campus Green and Eco Friendly”, associated with ELECTRONICS CLUB in Kings Engineering College Chennai on 19.02.2021 at 02.00 p.m to 04.00 p.m.

The program was beginning with Prayer and welcome address was given by Dr.A.Senthil kumar, Coordinator of ELECTRONICS CLUB and Dr.T.John Oral Baskar, Principal, Kings Engineering College delivered the special address for the event.

From the entire department around 180 Students from all the year students are resisted for this events in that around 146 students and Staff members are participated and presented their innovative ideas and thoughts in paper and poster presentation about the theme Go GREEN “My Institution to Make My Campus Green and Eco Friendly”. Head of all the Departments are invited to act has jury based on their evaluation report awards are declared and participant certificates are send through online, Some of the points are noted from their presentation, they are

Objective

An Innovation Hub is place which provides facilities to nurture new ideas and help develop inquisitive perspective in youths of today. The Innovation hubs created by National Council of Science Museums engage youth in innovative and creative activities. These hubs serve as springboards for new ideas and innovation and thus helping the society and economy to face future challenges and meet rising aspirations of the growing population. Specifically, embedding such creative pedagogies in science education through Innovation ‘Hubs’ would have potential to retain talent in modern science.

Making admission contrary to merit determined in accordance with the admission policy of the institution.
Maintaining transparency in evaluation practice.
Request or return of any documents like, certificates, bonafides made easier.

ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE

The functions of the cell are:

To disseminate information about the evils of ragging and the punishment incurred as per law if involved in ragging to all students at the beginning of every academic year.
The anti-ragging squad will be active and monitor students’ behavior throughout the academic year
In case of any ragging complaint from the students, the anti-ragging team will take strict and necessary action against the culprits.

IQAC

Roles and Responsibilities of IQAC:

Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes.
Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC
