Vision and Mission

The Department of English at our institution is dedicated to enhancing the lives of our students by equipping them with four essential communication skills through innovative and world-class techniques. We strive to empower our students to view themselves as professionals, capable of contributing to their respective fields with valuable skills and abilities that are highly sought after in the business world and post-graduate studies. Our commitment to training extends to students from all disciplines, aiming to develop and enhance their social, personal, and leadership skills, in line with the vision of our esteemed Founder. The Department has taken on the mission of diligently and resourcefully imparting the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing to our students. In accordance with our Founder's vision, we work tirelessly to produce morally upright and professionally competent engineers. Our vision encompasses the various methods and approaches required to achieve our goals with precision and efficiency within the given timeframe.

Objectives

  To help the students to understand the importance of the English language.

  To provide students with sophisticated writing and critical thinking skills useful not only in the academy but also in extracurricular activities.

  Every year, we, the English Department Staff Conduct a Bridge Course for the First years to introduce them to the different atmosphere of a Professional Course; alleviate their fear; make them feel at home with the Seniors, and grow in the Vision and Mission spirit of our Kings Engineering Family. Besides teaching the Anna University Syllabi, we periodically organize “Just a Minute Programme” and “Extempore Speech Competition” for the volunteers. We also arrange an “Oratorical Contest” to wipe away the inhibition and to eradicate the stage fear from the minds of the students.

  The English Department is known for its unquenchable passion and thirst for the English Language and the appropriate skills to be utilized in the Technical and Professional field. The Staff members display a voracious and indiscriminating appetite for new information and facts which prove to be positively contagious, that, most of the students imbibe and imitate the style of the Faculty in their conversation and writing too. The English Department is highly appreciated for its enthusiastic and inventive output by its master-mindedness in handling any topic extemporarily with its impromptu speech on all the students-related issues.
